Kinetic Analysis Corporation ProductsKAC has developed an advanced numerical modeling technology, based on the TAOS system, which is used to produce all of KAC's tropical storm hazard products. The use of this common modeling platform ensures that all of KAC's assessments produce consistent and compatible results. Real Time Impact Forecasts for Tropical Cyclone Early WarningKAC monitors tropical cyclone activity worldwide, computes the associated wind, wave and storm surge hazards and produces high-resolution hazard intensity maps for each of these hazards, using the official tropical weather forecasts from the national Hurricane Center (Atlantic) or the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (Pacific). Hazard and impact results are available within 12 to 15 minutes after dissemination of the official forecast, and are updated with each new forecast (usually every 6 hours). KAC can also estimate, in real time, the damage or loss from storm hazards to a client’s property or exposure. [More...] Hazard Assessment for Mitigation Planning and Hazard-resistant ConstructionKAC models each historic storm in the US National Hurricane Center’s historical database of Atlantic hurricanes and uses advanced statistical methods to produce hazard intensity/frequency curves for tropical cyclone-related wind, wave and storm surge hazards at a specific location (e.g. a development site) for for a larger areas (a county or state). [More...] Systematic Risk Assessment for Cost-effective Risk ManagementKAC produces risk assessments to assist clients with understanding and addressing the long-term hazard risk for a wide range of applications including land development, engineering, land use planning and insurance. KAC models each historic storm in the US National Hurricane Center’s historical database of Atlantic hurricanes, and uses advanced statistical methods to produce hazard intensity/frequency curves for tropical cyclone-related wind, wave and storm surge hazards. For a client's specific exposure database, KAC applies these hazard estimates to compute average yearly loss costs, and probable maximum loss costs for a variety of return periods. [More...] |
