KAC Hazard Assessment TechnologyKAC applies advanced numerical models, including TAOS and MIDGARD, developed by Charles C. Watson, founder of the company. TAOS and MIDGARD are fully integrated—using common databases, these models exemplify a true multi-hazard analysis system. TAOS improves on existing approaches to analyzing hydrometeorological hazards and their impacts by modeling at significantly higher resolutions than typical legacy approaches.
TAOS and MIDGARD can produce outputs in a variety of Geographic Information System (GIS) formats, such as shapefiles, MIF, ESRI raster, GRASS, and international standards such as GRIB. Web-enabled outputs are an option for both real-time data and high-resolution studies. ReferencesThe techniques employed in TAOS are described in greater detail in papers published in the scientific literature. A list of published TAOS papers is available. |
