TAOS-RTFS Oil and Gas sector productsKAC uses the TAOS real-time impact forecasting system (TAOS-RTFS), our real-time numerical storm simulation platform, to estimate the impact of a storm’s wind, wave and surge forces on assets and operations of the US Gulf of Mexico offshore oil and gas industry, based on current, available storm forecast information. Site-specific impact estimates for each leasehold are combined with damage estimates to the oil/gas processing and transportation assets to compute the estimated production shortfall resulting from a storm. Impact estimates are updated with every new storm advisory from the National Hurricane Center. Additional information is available for the TAOS-RTFS and the TAOS-RTFS Oil and Gas sector products.
